Beach Date with Havaianas && Glamour Magazine!

What I Wore:
1. Sequin Dress- French Connection
2. Metal Clutch- Jewelmint [w/ an old strap]
3. Jeweled Flip Flops- Havaianas [customized myself!]

Hi again! Wednesday night I had the pleasure of hosting an event with Havaianas flip flops and Glamour Magazine- thank you so much to all of my viewers who made it out! I wanted to show you what I wore and some pictures from the party.

Can you tell why I picked this dress? I'll give you a hint- something that starts with 'S' and ends in '-equins". Yellow and grey is also one of my favorite summer combinations- I saw a top I wanted in this style that I have regretted passing up for years. I was so excited to find the combo in this dress!

This event was also the perfect opportunity for me to bust out my new metal clutch from Jewelmint. They sell their clutches and chains separately, so I just paired one of my old, removable clutch straps to complete the style.

My beach outfit wouldn't be complete without the perfect pair of flip flops! I customized my Havaianas with white soles, thin grey straps && clear crystals. Don't worry if you couldn't come to the event- you can still customize your own pair on their website!

Here are a few pictures from the event and a couple of my viewers that I got to chat with!

Loved meeting all of you girls [and seeing some of you again!] and I can't wait til next time!

My Style Diary: Pink Pants!

What I Wore:
1. Crochet Top: Juicy Couture
2. Pink Jeans: DailyLook
3. White Sandals: Tory Burch
4. Nail Polish: Essence 'You Belong With Me': Ulta

I'm working on my outfit post from yesterday's beach event, but in the mean time I wanted to show you what I wore earlier this week. I've shown these pink pants in a styling video before- click here if you want to watch different ways to wear them! I like to keep the other pieces neutral when wearing a bright color- this top is a great way to play with texture while not competing with the jeans.

I've started to post on lookbook again now that I've got my remote. Make sure to leave me a comment if you have an account- I'd love to see your looks too :)

Be back soon with my beach post!

Summer Casual Style Diary- City Chic!

What I'm Wearing
2. Beaded Sandals- Shoemint: Kellie, 9.5
3. Sunglasses- Prada Baroque
4. Beaded Bag- Valentino
6. Nails- Chanel 'Peridot'
7. Lips- Revlon Lip Butter 'Tutti Frutti'

I am SO excited to be writing this post- for so many reasons! Primarily because I'm in nerdy heaven and ecstatic over the fact that this is my first completely self-shot full outfit post. I've always filmed my own videos/edited all of my photos, but usually I have someone to at least press the button on my camera to ensure the photo is in focus. The days of waiting for available help with my blog photos are over now thanks to my new remote! If you own a DSLR/have your own fashion blog, I STRONGLY recommend purchasing one of these nifty gadgets. It's inexpensive, easy to use and seriously a life saver. Expect a LOT more outfit posts coming soon!

Outfits like this are very typical for me during the summer time- they're extremely comfortable, yet styled enough to carry you through multiple occasions. I wore this dress during a day of shopping and errands straight to going out at night. Maxis are also great for the summer because they're loose and relaxed while also being attention grabbing statement pieces. Double duty pieces like this are staples in my wardrobe! Pair this look up with an oversized bag and you're ready for whatever the day might throw at you :)

My makeup is minimal- a little tinted moisturizer/powder with some red lip balm. My hair is effortless- literally- I rolled out of bed and threw in a half fishtail braid. Fishtails are such a great, easy look to create- and they always warrant a ton of compliments from strangers guessing how in the world you did that to your hair [click here if you'd like to see my video tutorial on this style!]

I always like to add a little glam to basic outfits like this. I love the subtle sparkle the beaded sandals bring to this look! This is my first pair of shoes off of Shoemint [While I wear heels, I don't typically purchase a ton of them- I was more interested in getting a neutral pair of sandals I could wear all day and with hundreds of outfits] My viewers can get a 20% discount off a first Shoemint purchase with the code CCSHOES [good until June 30th! Click here if you'd like to visit the site

My other special piece of sparkle? My twitter necklace-turned-bracelet, a gift from my sister after NYFW :) The perfect present for a social media enthusiast. Well. That and a camera remote. Combine the two and you get one very happy blogger :)

NOTD: Layla Holographic Nail Polish Review

Today's polish post is on holographic nails, a look I was SUPER excited about trying. Prepare to fall in love if you've never seen this style before!

Polish shown is Hologram Perfect Polish by Layla in the shade 'Mercury Twilight' [found at Ulta]. The left side shows the effect in the sunlight, while the right shows it indoors.

The key to creating this effect is by using the polish thickly and quickly. I discovered this after many less-than-perfect attempts. The polish itself applies streaky and light- don't even bother wiping the excess polish on the side of the bottle. You'll need to apply as thick of a coating as possible to create an opaque finish. You'll also need to move extremely quickly with this polish- don't waste your time continuously going back over the polish unless you want to create bare spots and streaks. The look above took around 2-3 heavy coats.

You'd think laying a base coat of silver would help, but it doesn't. The hologram polish actually removed that first layer when applied!

The polish effect takes around thirty minutes to develop after painting [the bottle says this, but I thought I'd point it out because you might be disappointed while painting on the grainy silver]

After trying this look multiple times, I discovered that one of the upsides is how EASY the removal is. A few swipes and it was completely gone! A very nice alternative to the extremely difficult to remove sparkle of glitter polishes.

I think this effect looks AMAZING in the sunlight. It's truly rainbow reflective and holographic- perfect for all that time you'll be spending outdoors in these summer months. I'm not obsessed with the look indoors, but this is the perfect season to try out this effect! Overall, I think this polish is mildly difficult to apply- hopefully my tips will make the process a little easier for you!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it? Have you tried any other brands of holographic polishes? Let me know!

NOTD: Essie Bikini So Teeny Nail Polish Review

It's been forever since I posted a Nail of the Day! Today's post comes courtesy of a recent polish purchasing binge [yayyyyy for my blog, nooooo for my bank]. First shade up for review? Essie's 'Bikini So Teeny'

Straight from Essie's newest polish collection, 'Bikini So Teeny' is a little bit different than most of the colors I've been seeing all summer [mostly bright neons]. You know what's not different? The fact that I'm posting about yet another blue polish [despite never consciously admitting it, I think it's obvious what my favorite hue in lacquer is]. The color is a vibrant periwinkle and the polish itself is -wait for it- opaque! Yay, Essie! The formula of this polish reminded me why Essie is my favorite brand. The color is beautiful and true to the bottle, the formula is easy to work with and it dried with a gorgeous shine. The picture above shows the polish after two coats- no base coat and no top coat! Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase! Would you wear it?

I was in New York this past weekend for a fabulous vacation filled with shopping, friends, parties,  polo and of course, a martini [or six]. I thought I'd show you guys the outfits I wore on my trip along with a few pictures :)

The polo match might have been on Saturday, but that didn't stop Veuve Clicquot from welcoming me when I arrived on Thursday- thank you, thank you Alicia && Cristy for the love and champagne!

Speaking of love- I stopped by my agency Thursday afternoon and was given that amazing grey diamond skull ring. I was joking all day that they were like our championship team rings [I say I'm joking, but I'm really not. Combine that with the champagne and it's obvious why I kept rapping Championship Pop Bottles all weekend] The site selling that ring [Plukka] discounts their rate every time someone purchases the piece of jewelry- leaving the final rate you're charged with lower every time someone buys! Crazy considering the final price could be around $100 when it's worth over $1,000. I can't keep up with all of these crazy new sites!

I can tell the biggest question on everyone's mind right now is '...wait. Day 1? Did you REALLY go to the airport dressed like that?' and yes. I did. I'm usually on early morning flights && I dress for the entire day because I typically have to be somewhere directly after [unless it's 2am, but I have yet to take a red eye]. I try to only travel with carry on luggage, so dresses like this are perfect to fold and keep in small places. Travel tip? Wear the shoes that would take up the most room in your suitcase to the airport. Allowed me to have my comfy combat boots without taking up any of the space :)

Picture taken at Le Bain from the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic pre-party Friday night. This is the night I FINALLY got to bust out my fully sequined All Saints dress. I had been looking at their different, sparkly dresses FOREVER and I finally decided to splurge and buy myself one. I'm worth it.

The party was fun and so was the after party [and by 'after party', I mean, 'after the party I can't wait to EAT! party']. We went to one of my favorite NYC spots- Cafeteria! YOU MUST GO if you're in town and have never been! My recommendations? The mac n cheese spring rolls and fried chicken n waffles :) [omg. I'm dying typing. Can I go back now, please?]

Ready for the Polo Classic on Saturday morning! I'm on the left wearing this gorgeous black and white dress from Nanette Lepore while my sister is busy fascinating on the right [Yes. We turned fascinator into a verb. Ex: Why don't you go fascinate in a corner?]. She's also wearing a gorgeous lace coat from Zara/totally dominating the classy preppy dress code.

All dressed up and ready to boat! The polo match was actually in New Jersey, so here's a picture of the amazing view on the ride over.

Pictures from Polo with a few my favorites :)

As usual, my trip to New York was nothing short of amazing [slightly disastrous, but it wouldn't have been MY trip if it didn't involve, you know- falling down a ferry, epic sunburns and an inside joke turned tattoo] [not mine!][yolo, polo]

And, if you were wondering- no, I did not fly home in that dress. I flew home in no makeup, in my boyfriend's sweats, and I felt just as fabulous :)
